Robert J. Lombardi
Robert Lombardi is chief actuary of The Phoenix Companies, Inc., responsible for managing actuarial risks, evaluating product and capital strategies, and assessing transactions. He is also the appointed actuary for
Phoenix Life Insurance Company.
Mr. Lombardi began his career with Phoenix in 1981 as an actuarial trainee. After serving in increasingly senior actuarial positions, he was promoted to second vice president and actuary in 1996 and to vice president
and actuary in 2000. He was promoted to his current position in 2012.
Mr. Lombardi is a Fellow of the Society of Actuaries (FSA) and a Member of the American Academy of Actuaries (MAAA). He holds two bachelor’s degrees, in mathematics and electrical engineering, from The Cooper Union,
and a master’s degree in operations research from Stanford University.
