The Critical Illness rider gives you the option to accelerate a portion of your death benefit if you are diagnosed with a heart attack, stroke, cancer, renal failure, major organ transplant or ALS.

She has a husband and two children. She works as a school teacher. Her husband runs his own painting business. At age 40, Randi purchases Phoenix Safe Harbor Term Life with a 20-year duration and a $250,000 death benefit with an initial monthly premium $70.08.

Seven years later, during her annual physical, Randi learns that she has breast cancer.
